Shelly Edmunds Jorgensen is the author of the memoir, "Beautiful Ashes." Shelly’s traumatic experiences started with domestic violence that led to her father murdering her mother and burning down their house. That was only the beginning. In Shelly’s words, “Everything that could be taken from a person was taken from me.”
Although each trauma was devastating, Shelly found a level of resilience that can only be experienced through the hard work of healing and divine intervention. Along the way, Shelly was blessed with a tribe of friends who not only supported her, but fully adopted her into their families.
While on the outside Shelly’s story is one of pain, her story is actually one of faith, forgiveness, and love. Her story is a testament to the beauty found within life's ashes and the resilience of the human spirit.
