What I Hear You Say Is…

What do they care about? In thatway, he co-creates vision and sets direction that includes their diverseperspective and needs. Perspectives need to flow freely in a team. Having anopen feedback culture is a big part of that. Three tips: 1. Reframe the word‘feedback’ to ‘perspectives.’ It mitigates the negative connotation. 2. Rolemodel being open to feedback. Repeat back what you hear: ‘What I hear you sayis…”, and 3. Bookend the constructive with the positive. Our evolutionaryimpulse is to look for threats. Focus on the positive, this creates energy.
