Description

Today we're talking about the original mother: La Llorona! Val and Ron take listeners through a little bit of background on this beloved piece of Mexican folklore including sharing the stories their parents were told about this legend. Then they dive right into 2019's La Llorona, directed by Jayro Bustamante and starring María Mercedes Coroy, Sabrina De La Hoz, María Telón and Margarita Kenéfic. After that, Val discusses her thoughts now that she's watched the second and third installments of Nightmare on Elm Street (for the first time!) and the two sisters close with books they're reading + new releases they're excited for. Don't forget that the Scream Sister selected read this month is Our Share Of Night by Mariana Enriquez - Val and Ron will be discussing this book on the podcast in late September/early October! Read along with them and join the discussion by emailing thoughts and questions about the book to screamsisterpod@gmail.com.
