This episode we are diving deep into one of the hardest parts of studying Scripture- genealogy.
Why do we say this is one of the hardest parts?
The names are hard to pronounce
The lists go on and on forever
They never seem to add to the story
There is no way our brains can keep up with them after we’ve read it anyway.
The amount of times we have personally skimmed over- or just all together skipped- these parts in scripture is astounding.
That stops today!
We have now learned the obvious- every single part of scripture serves a very valuable purpose.
It is God-breathed, after all.
Genesis 5 is the perfect example of finding a genealogy list’s true meaning: the story of salvation is so perfectly told in the names listed here.
This shows that YHWH not only wants His story told far & wide…but He wants it to be so simply interpreted & understood that He can place it all right there in the names of 10 men.
