The infertility journey is a long and exhausting experience for parents, and it can be challenging to put into words. Each person's fertility journey is unique, but sharing our stories can provide support and comfort to others who may be going through similar experiences. We spoke with Tara Schenk in this podcast episode about her 8 year long fertility journey, which includes surrogacy and her desire to breastfeed her child. During our conversation, we delved into the emotions of guilt, blame, body shame, and self-hate that often accompany the fertility journey. Many individuals struggle with not recognizing themselves due to their bodies' inability to conceive and carry a pregnancy to full term. It's important to acknowledge that infertility and miscarriage are often overlooked and are deeply traumatic experiences for us survivors. By openly discussing these silent losses, we aim to bring awareness and support to all infertility, pregnancy loss and infant loss survivors.
