Leslie Coles is an award-winning director and screenwriter. She works in scripted and unscripted. Coles recently completed production on “The Curtain,” which she wrote, produced, and directed. “The Curtain” was funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, and the Ontario Arts Council with support from ACTRA Toronto and the WGC. As a filmmaker, she enjoys compelling, character-driven stories and gravitates to realism and nuanced characters. She understands the actors’ artistic processes intuitively, having trained and worked as an actor. Her multi-award-winning feature documentary “Melody Makers” opened the 2018 Fort Myers Film Festival and was originally licensed by CBC, The Documentary Channel. She is a member of ACTRA, DGC, and the WGC, and founder and executive director of the Female Eye Film Festival (FeFF) established in 2001.
