Description

Circular economy, a term which is not new to the industry and people, is gaining momentum over the past few years.  The linear model of "Take, Make, Waste" has prevailed for a long time since the first industrial revolution and has waged a terrible battle with our beloved planet. Fortunately, now many business and social leaders are embracing the principles of circular economy and work with the core of its framework - to design out the waste. The World Economic Forum has reported that implementing the circular economy worldwide could yield material cost savings of up to $1 trillion a year by 2025.

Listen to my conversation with Elin Bergman, Circular Economy expert at WWF and Vice President of Cradlenet. She talks about the challenges in transition from linear to circular model and various initiatives such as Baltic Stewardship Initiative and Nordic Circular Hotspot.
