What is Modern Slavery and why is it important that we as consumers should know about this? Certainly ethical consumerism is on the rise but still most of us are unaware of the conditions in which our products are being produced. The term modern slavery is designed to capture all of the diminished human rights conditions in work spaces that exists around the world which includes human trafficking, forced labour, child labour and others. A multi-billion dollar company can tell you exactly where their products are coming from but can't tell you anything about the humans that are involved in making the products.
