Stock refers to part-ownership of a company. The term stock and share are generally used interchangeably.
However, it must be noted that the term ‘share’ refers to part-ownership in a particular company whereas the term ‘stock’ refers to part-ownership of any company and also represents part-ownership in multiple companies.
