Jennifer (she/her) joins me from Sint Sinck territory in Westchester County, New York. Jennifer is eight months into her postpartum doula business journey, is almost fully booked and is loving and thriving in her new career, which was inspired by the incredible experience, support and validation she felt from her own doula 21 years ago when her son was six weeks old. Jennifer’s professional background includes 25 years serving as an investigator and 8 years as the district office manager for a NYS Assemblywoman where she helped local residents resolve a host of issues that affected their daily lives. This role uniquely prepared Jennifer for doula work as she honed in on her ability to be a patient and empathetic listener.
Jennifer refers to her transition to doula work as Jennifer version 3.0, and she is proud to have had the courage to make a career shift in her 50s.
