Hell hath no fury, like a Filipina scorned!

The Rad Revival House returns to the Philippines for acclaimed Filipino director Lino Brocka's brutally-realistic socio-political melodrama INSIANG. Host Professor Cesare Augusto explores another of his native country's cinematic feature, with dark and shocking results.

Hilda Koronel stars as the titular Insiang, a young woman living in the slums of Tondo, Manila as she undergoes a regular series of emotional, psychological, and physical abuse at the hands of her cruel mother Tonya (Mona Lisa). Things go from bad to horrific when Tonya's sadistic boyfriend Dado (Ruel Vernal) sets his ugly, perverted sights on Insiang. After being raped by Dado, Insiang concocts a series of vengeance-dripped mind games that is nearly Shakespearian in its outcome!
