Description

On this very special Halloween edition of the Rad Revival House, we explore the grippingly-realistic 1984 British nuclear war thriller, THREADS!

Joining us is host Cesare Augusto’s old friend from his Penn State Com-Radio Days, Stephen “Analog Man” Tumolo, where they revisit their old talk show roots (as co-hosts of a true crime show entitled “Mercury Climbing”) and rap about the frightening intensity of THREADS.

“Nuclear conflict is the ultimate terror,” Steve glumly states, as THREADS explores just what happens when the working-class town of Sheffield, England becomes the target of a catastrophic nuke assault.

Directed with scary precision by Mick Jackson, THREADS is a made-for-TV film in the spirit of a mock documentary that captures the aftermath of a nuclear explosion, followed by the deadly radioactive fallout of the mushroom cloud that effectively decimates England and the rest of the world. Filmmakers looking to see what man-made doomsday would resemble should see THREADS immediately. Be forewarned: audiences with delicate dispositions must brace themselves for graphic depictions of nuclear war upon human victims.

Put simply: THREADS is the scariest non-horror film we’ve ever seen!
