Simon Tolhurst is a portrait artist and painter who has drawn thousands of people from all backgrounds.
We talk about how art can change the way you view the world, the difference in painting and drawing, where art newbies like me can start, his method and takeaways from sitting down with such a breadth of people, and what he means by the “eye sees and the hand reacts”.
The student portraits we talk about in this episode are currently part of a group exhibition in St Pancras called 'Eleven Camden Voices'.
