This Podcast is a soliloquy from the author of the 12 part book series Papa Tom’s Tales, Papa Tom, reciting Book Number Two. This rendition of the story offers to The Father’s Heart Podcast audience an audio version of the book. In addition to listening to the audio version of the book, it would be real treat to see the magnificent illustrations our world class illustrator, Jerry Mosemak has created to illustrate Book Number Two with hand painted illustrations. This second book in his opinion and mine has better illustrations than Book Number One “The Boy Who Found His Name”, about which we continuously receive compliments on the illustrations. So, hats off to Jerry for an inspired pictorial display on each page in glorious color!
The second book was written over 18 months ago, back in early 2020. The subject matter is quite delicate and timely. The title underscores the spiritual issue of transgender from the perspective of it being a “spirit of confusion”. Though some of the illustrations can be scary for little children, the theme behind the book is “Fear Not” for the Lord thy God is with you. While we often do not recognize evil spirits as they often present themselves as “angels of light” or misrepresent themselves as offering something “good”. The truth of the matter is that these spirits are ugly and though they can present themselves as scary, we do not have anything to fear from them. Our children are being seduced and beguiled by evil spirits through media, Hollywood and many forms of entertainment. Should we not offer to them an alternative?
I once heard a story about a young girl who was approached by a beautiful angel who tried to tell the young girl how beautiful he was. The young girl quickly discerned this beautiful angel was a “bad angel” and told him so. The angel said to the little girl “I am a good angel, see how beautiful I am”. The young girl replied “You are not a good angel, I can tell you are not!” Surprised by her response, the beautiful angel asked “How can you tell?” The young girl replied because every story I have been told about angels, when they appear they say “Fear Not”. You did not say “Fear Not” therefore you are an evil spirit and I will not listen to you. The beautiful appearing angel changed into a scary, ugly angel as he actually appears and slinked away.
