BeyondSonny is an emerging rapper based out of Brooklyn, New York. Born and raised in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, the 24-year-old rapper began writing songs in middle school, and what started off as a way to express himself and his inner thoughts led to him recording and beginning his musical career in high school. Formative influences on his style and sound include J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar, and artists across various genres including hip hop, alternative, afro beat, house, and electronica.
BeyondSonny first surfaced in 2014 with his debut mixtape, Reaching Heaven Volume 1, showcasing his raw talent and lyricism, gaining traction from listeners across the world. This was shortly followed by his second release in 2019, American Hippy Demo. Most recently, BeyondSonny embarked on a unique project, challenging himself to record and creative direct a series of 23 freestyles, landing a feature on Forbes discussing the project and his influences.
Through honest lyrics and relatable songs, Beyondsonny creates an environment where everyone is welcome regardless of personal beliefs, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender.
