Modern Distinctive Ladies, Inc. (MDL Inc.)® is a youth-driven, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young women and girls to make healthy choices, create social change and become leaders in their communities. MDL was founded in 1988 by Prima Atwell along with 7 other charter members when they were just in the 7th grade Dr. Tavis Wade-Jones, being one the charter members, designed and created a vision for educating and uplifting young ladies residing in the Greater Memphis and Mississippi area. Over the years, MDL Inc., has grown steadily, building its services and programs and garnering increased visibility and recognition under Dr. Tavis Wade-Jones' leadership. MDL Inc. has grown into a youth-led organization that has reached thousands of young ladies and positively transformed the lives of countless young women and girls through our innovative leadership development and health education programming.
