In this episode we chat with Dr Lior Suchoy all about subduction zones.

Lior is a Research Associate at Imperial College London
with a background in Geodynamics. He specialises in the numerical modelling of large-scale tectonic processes (specifically subduction dynamics) using languages such as Python, C++ and MATLAB.

We discuss how plates move, what happens at a subduction zone where one plate sinks under the other, how the Mariana Trench formed, the Ring of Fire, and much more.
