Eyebrow Cinema made an excellent video regarding Night of the Living Dead and its unintentional allegory for civil rights. This got me thinking of the metaphors for civil rights that one might draw from the Star Wars saga. Even though I do not believe it to be intentional, I believe Finn's story arc to be one that may be interpreted as the story of a young black man who finds the courage to stand up and fight an oppressive system. I believe this to be quite a profound lesson.
