In 2014, Lucasfilm "redefined" the canon, or official continuity, of Star Wars. One of the earliest new canon products was the comic series Kanan: The Last Padawan. This was the story of Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars Rebels, and how he escaped Order 66 as a young man and set off on his own in a galaxy that had turned against the Jedi. Recently, the first episode of The Bad Batch retold the story of Kanan surviving Order 66, but told it in a completely different way than in the comic. This begs the question: how are we to make sense of this discrepancy? Join me as I share my thoughts.
