John George Haigh grew up in a conservative household cloistered by his parents and their religious values through the Plymouth Brethren Church's teachings. As he aged into adulthood though he abandoned many of the aspects taught to him from the Church resulting to petty theft and moreover forgery. When he realized that everyone, he stole from went running you the police, Haigh began to devise a devious plan to avoid being arrested ever again.
