Batman: Year One is an iconic staple in the Batman lore. It was the first time the audience gets to see the transition from Bruce Wayne, man with a mission to save his city, to Batman, the myth that invokes fear in the cowardly and superstitious. Along with that origin we see James Gordon move to Gotham and join a corrupt police station and Selina Kyle go from prostitute to infamous cat burglar. Not only is it a great story but the art does an amazing job conveying the dark and hard world our protagonists are doing their best to clean up day by day.
