Sharing your story is not for everyone but in today's #SoulfulSunday I'll dig into suggestions you can use and why this can help your healing journey.
1) Share with someone you trust.
2) Be prepared to feel emotional or out of sorts after sharing. This may come on during, a bit afterward, or days later. Let feelings come. Cry if you need to. To discharge go for a walk, get out into nature, exercise, read a book, listen to an uplifting podcast/video or watch something funny.
3) Don't be surprised if your friends, family, audience don't believe you. There are some abusers that are so good at what they do that it can seem unbelievable to believe.
4) Share with someone you know you can trust.
5) If you feel you want to share in a bigger way but wish to learn tips and suggestions check out the LIGHTbeamers Community on FB. Find the link here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LIGHTbeamersCommunity
Someone out there needs to know they are not alone and that they can survive. Perhaps you are a parent or friend of someone trapped in an abusive relationship and need to know how to help. My goal is to share awareness, offer empowerment, and educate others about emotional traumas and domestic abuse. Here I will share my story and also stories of courage and healing from Survivors, Coaches, to Therapists/Counselors.
