Description

Yes, that’s Wright! N.T. Wright implies that a God who creates ex-Nihilo, in an instant through His words is a tyrant.

In this episode we discuss last week’s inquisition: How does evolution relate to infant baptism and hermeneutics? (I’m asking because it appears that many reformed scholars are given to theistic evolution.)

Before we dive into that, we needed address some of the dangerous teaching N.T. Wright has on evolution and creation. Listen to Wright in his own words.

Wright says we should expect a benevolent God to create the world slowly over time. In the same way Jesus says the kingdom of God grows slowly like seeds cast into the field. For him to speak and direct creation in six literal days would make him despotic like an ancient asian monarch who commands his palace to be built. All of his servants scurry around in fear to accomplish his mandates.

If you are wondering how he makes this connection and then tries to defend it, join the party. Bizarre is an understatement. But Wright is a prominent Christian voice that many pastors and Christians heed. He seems to fit the profile of a “spiritual” serial killer.

To the question from last week. Why would someone ask this? Is there a connection between evolution and infant baptism?

What is the logic behind infant baptism? What is the logic of theistic evoltuion? Why do reformed scholars seem to be the ones who favor forms of theistic evolution or some iteration of non-literal readings of Genesis 1? While those who believe in confessors baptism tend to typically hold to a literal 6 consecutive day creation?

What is the difference between old Christian liberals who denied inspiration, Inerrancy, infallibility and authority and the new camp that will claim to believe these things, but by their actions, preaching, and teaching deny it?

Is one better than the other?

What is the importance of being exegetically driven?

The Inquistion: The Bible said sin entered the world when Adam fell, not originated. So, when did sin originate?

This is a very thought provoking episode, turn in and join the discussion.
