Description

When leading a team through change, so often we focus on the strategy – our goals, timeline, communications plan, and training.  But there is another element of change that if not managed well, can deter all the work that is done to implement it. To be successful, we can never underestimate the power of emotions. Change is disruptive, both professionally and personally.  It affects the nature of our work, how we make decisions, and how we communicate. It can also impact our identity, our sense of belonging, and our relationships with others.  So it only makes sense that the way people feel as they face change, and the way we respond to those feelings can seriously impact how well a team moves through it, and ultimately whether or not the change is successful. In this episode, Mike Racey, OhioHealth's Senior Change Management Consultant and Amy Upp, Senior Customer Strategy Advisor and former Director of Fitness and Wellness for OhioHealth Employer Solutions join us for a conversation about leading through change.  They share their own struggles and learning moments in navigating change and provide great insight on how to address the emotional response of their team, as well as their own.
