Welcome to my first podcast episode with one of my fave person, Perlie. Perlie is 26 years old from LA and has been to 27 countries and has lived abroad in 3 countries— England, Korea, & Turkey! She'd like to say that she has put a lot of thought behind her decisions of living abroad, but they have honestly all been executed on a whim. In 2018, she last-minute changed her study abroad application from Wollongong, Australia, to Leicester, England, because she found out the school year began in July and she had already had a flight booked to Hawaii in August. In 2020, Perlie decided to get her TEFL certificate and teach abroad in Busan, South Korea, because she'd just graduated from college, it was during the pandemic, and, frankly, she was feeling bored of the U.S. In 2022, she left Korea with three luggages and a goofy lacrosse-playing boyfriend (yours truly hehe), with whom she decided to continue to traveling show on the road in Istanbul, Turkey. None of these were exactly planned ahead of time, but Perlie's biggest travel mantra is to keep an open mind and just allow life to come naturally! She is not quite sure where she'll be in the next few months, but all she knows is that it’ll be somewhere super cool. Perlie wouldn't have it any other way.
