"My Father Gave Me Seeds" by John Foster
My father gave me seeds.
I gave the seeds to the earth.
The earth gave me flowers.
I gave the flowers to the bees.
The bees gave me honey.
I gave the honey to a merchant.
The merchant gave me cloth.
I gave the cloth to a tailor.
The tailor gave me a cloak.
I gave the cloak to a farmer.
The farmer gave me seeds.
I gave the seeds to my father.
My father gave thanks for the seeds.
Hi, I’m Grace, and this is the Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled Poems Podcast. It’s a poetry podcast by a kid, for kids. Are you ready for today’s Pickled Poem?
Email pickledpoemspodcast@gmail.com and let me know what you thought about today's episode. I’d love to hear YOUR favorite poem, too, so make sure to include that in the email and it might show up in a future episode. Make sure your parents have subscribed to this podcast, and ask them to leave a rating and review so more kids and families can enjoy pickled poems.
Oh, and I should mention that this podcast is sponsored by the Homeschool Conversations with Humility and Doxology podcast, which is hosted by my Mom. So if you have a parent listening, they should probably check that one out, too.
Now go pick a peck of pickled poems! I’ll see you next week!
