“Trees” by Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see

A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest

Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,

And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear

A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;

Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,

But only God can make a tree.

Hi, I’m Grace, and this is the Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled Poems Podcast. It’s a poetry podcast by a kid, for kids. Are you ready for today’s Pickled Poem?

Email pickledpoemspodcast@gmail.com and let me know what you thought about today's episode. I’d love to hear YOUR favorite poem, too, so make sure to include that
in the email and it might show up in a future episode. Make sure your parents have subscribed to this podcast, and ask them to leave a rating and review so more kids and families can enjoy pickled poems.

Oh, and I should mention that this podcast is sponsored by the Homeschool Conversations with
Humility and Doxology podcast
, which is hosted by my Mom. So if you have a parent listening, they should probably check that one out, too.
