Breath: Mindfully Breathe and Be Present

Welcome to our 50th podcast episode! We are celebrating that have been able to share 50 episodes with you during Season 1!

Today, we get to stop and take a breath! Let’s focus on being mindful as we intentionally breathe.

Genesis 2:7 says, Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

We can utilize breathing to become mindful and breathe life into our souls!

Benefits of breathwork: reduces inflammation, increases oxygen, improves movement, decreases digestive stress, stimulates the vagus nerve: responsible for turning on our parasympathetic nervous system, and lowered heart rate and blood pressure.

And listen to this: breathing is the easiest way to regulate!

Anatomy of breathing: How the body uses oxygen - 25% is used by the brain, while the kidneys use 12% and the heart just 7%. Our bodies need oxygen to sustain themselves and need to be able to expel carbon dioxide to cleanse the system. Breath is a natural detoxifier. The brain really needs that oxygen!
