Suffering is inevitable. If you have never suffered in your life (which I'm sure you have) you will suffer someday in the future. Suffering is simply a part of life. But how can we ensure that suffering does not hinder our ability to have and live a full life? Is it possible to turn suffering into a good thing, and how, the heck, does someone do that?
These are the questions Rae dives into with her friend Tom in today's episode.
Tom Cowen is a first year BAcc student at Stellenbosch University. He experienced suffering when a calamitous accident during his gap year program ended his hopes of a middle distance runner scholarship in the United States. For the months following the hasty operation, he had the opportunity to sit with his emotions and process the suffering in a new found light. Today he shares his insights and unique perspective into suffering and life in general and explores the importance, in fact, of hard times.
Join us in an episode of dicovering and exploring answers to some of life's hardest questions; why do bad things happen? Can something bad ever turn good? How can suffering possibly be viewed as important?
