If you grew up in the 90s and enjoyed ice skating, the Olympics, or romcoms, you're sure to have heard the phrase "toe pick" taken from one of the greatest films of ALL TIME - The Cutting Edge! On this episode, we revisited the fun classic with special guest Caroline (Liz's sister-in-law!) Given that she's a super-fan and hasn't watched the movie for a few years, we included some trivia for her. So come hear how she did.
We fully acknowledge that this film is far from a Dumpsterpiece but we decided to do it anyway, because that's how we roll. For the uninitiated, this film is about a temperamental figure skater (Kate) and a brash former hockey god (Doug) that get thrown together to compete in Olympic-level pairs figure skating, and the inevitable tension that leads them to overcome the odds and brings them closer together. There's so much to enjoy here: lots of montages of the working-out, skating, and party variety; hands soaked in battery acid; skaters getting stuck on lederhosen; and ... fingerpainting? Doug can read and he desperately needs a sandwich, but he just doesn't downshift that fast. The most important question, though is - how many shots did Kate take - 3 or 4?
