Description

In this episode, host Rachel Buchanan, Experience Jackson Marketing & Development Manager, welcomes Chrissy Norris, President and Curator of Tompkins Historical Society: Stewart Farm Museum in Jackson County. The rural 175-acre Centennial Farm is the largest acreage ever donated to any Township in the State of Michigan, by Sheridan J. Stewart, born there in 1917. The grounds feature the farm, an 1890’s schoolhouse, and 1838 log cabin. The museum can be visited by appointment, or during one of their major events throughout the year, including Jackson County FREE Museum Day (held every Mother’s Day weekend) and the Freedom Festival each September.
