Biography: Born and raised in Seattle’s Central District, Erika White, owner and general manager of Fat’s Chicken and Waffles, is passionate about great food and service. “People come for the food, but they also come back for the vibe.” One to always follow her dreams prior to the restaurant business, Erika co-founded Jasiri Media Group and was emcee for the hip-hop group Beyond Reality. She is often referred to as the Godmother of Seattle hip hop. Erika infuses the soul into Seattle through her commitment to creating spaces where community is fostered, and authentic Southern fare invites people in to experience the richness of a home-cooked meal.
Career Advice: “Set goals and execute. See yourself doing what it is you want to do. Do research on what it is and how you can make it work. Surround yourself around like-minded people. Have faith and patience. Never give up or let anyone distract you from your goals.”
