Officer Kyle Hicks, identified by the Corpus Christi Police Department, was shot in the line of duty early Saturday morning while responding to a domestic disturbance call. Subsequently, other officers responded by fatally shooting the assailant who had targeted Hicks. CCPD reports that Hicks has sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently battling for his life.
