Former Nueces County Medical Examiner Dr. Adel Shaker will not face criminal charges after a grand jury decided not to indict him. Shaker was arrested on April 12, 2022, for 17 violations of the Texas Occupations Code, each a third-degree felony with a $50,000 bond. He resigned from his position shortly after the arrest.
