It has been the school holidays up here in the north, so we’ve taken a little detour down another avenue of EdTech, the often overhyped but always interesting world of Artificial Intelligence, which is sometimes the elephant in the room in education circles or the end of civilisation in others. In this episode, Michael discusses the evolving role of AI in education, exploring its potential benefits and challenges. He emphasises the importance of understanding the hype cycle associated with AI technologies, the innovative tools available for educators, and the ethical considerations that must be addressed as AI becomes more integrated into teaching and learning. At XMA, we advocate for a balanced approach to AI, encouraging educators to leverage its capabilities while remaining critical of its limitations and implications.
We looked at 4 examples of AI:
Gemini from Google
NotebookLM from Google
HeyGen – video translation
