Growing up in Canada and having worked in her Parliament when euthanasia and assisted su*cide were ushered in under former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, I couldn't believe just how fast the nation has fallen down its inevitable slippery slope.
Pro-life advocates from around the globe warned about opening the door to this state-sanctioned instrument of death (and eugenics). Shockingly, what took the Netherlands 50 years to achieve in terms of euthanasia policy has taken Canada less than 10!
Thankfully, I didn't have to have this conversation alone. Canada's former Ambassador to China, Mr. David Mulroney, joined me to outline where the country is at present and where it is going.
Policy on this subject went from "for those at the end of life" to where we are now - giving to people on the same day they request it and the government considering it for children and those with mental illness.
Canada is killing itself and it's far time we have a conversation about it.
