More and more champions are vacating their titles due to lack of competition with mandatory challengers.
According to Reuters, Devin Haney has vacated his WBC Super-Lightweight Belt after refusing to fight his mandatory challenger in Sandor Martin. Due to this, the WBC Interim Champion Alberto Puello is now WBC champion. According to Mike Coppinger’s ESPN article, Oleksandr Usyk announced that he will also vacate his IBF Heavyweight Title after waiting too long to fight his IBF Mandatory challenger. Usyk relinquishes his Undisputed Heavyweight status where the winner of Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois will become new IBF Champion.
