Acomi and Turk182 take a trip to the land way under, down under. Where the sky's always yellow in rain or shine. After a long time waiting, they finally go walk-a-bout in the Brian Trenchard-Smith Ozploitation classic, Turkey Shoot (1982) a.k.a. Escape 2000, and Blood Camp Thatcher. "No one should get hurt on a movie set!"
Know for its low budget which shortened the shoot schedule, forced rewrites, and on set accidents - "No one should get hurt on a movie set!" - it's been hailed as a disgusting, mindless, unnecessary, gore fest. In a fascist, future state people that don't follow the rules are labeled deviants and sent to reeducation camps. The camps are run by power mad, government officers who torture the prisoners for their own sadistic pleasures. Their favorite being a Most Dangerous Game style hunt of the beaten, malnourished, and defenseless prisoners.
So, oppose the fascist regime and break the law, question authority, listen to punk music, and find yourself a half-man, half... wolf? bear? hyena? Ookla the Mok? And, join Acomi and Turk as they fight to survive a Turkey Shoot and Escape 2000.
Acomi and Turk182, along the occasional special guest, provide running commentary of awfulsome movie and TV shows. The hosts select movies that either one, or both, have never seen. All jokes and comments are improvised. NO PREPARED JOKES OR COMMENTS!
During recording, the movies are watched at a low volume and with the subtitles on. Viewers may want to turn subtitles on as well to enhance the viewing experience.
So, cue up the audio, ready the movie, and hit play when we say so.
