Acomi and Turk182 aim their spoiled cabbages and rotten tomatoes at writer, director Roland Emmerich. In an IndieWire article, Roland attacked Marvel and Star Wars movies saying that there are too man of them being released each year, and the films are stifling the industry. Marvel and Star Wars movies are preventing filmmakers from telling fresh and unique stories.
If anyone knows how to tell fresh and unique stories with well written and fully fleshed characters in situations that are emotionally stimulating, intellectually compelling, and character driven, it's Emmerich. With movies like: Independence Day. Independence Day Resurgence. Universal Soldier. Stargate. 2012. Godzilla (1998). The Day After Tomorrow.
