Both are fans of Kickstarter and have friends and professional acquaintances who have used the platform, along with similar sites like GoFundMe, Patreon, ShareTheWealth, Groundfloor, and others, to successfully launch their projects. As Jagger would say, "Start me up. Once you start me up I'll never stop". And, many others who had a great product, but poor execution. To quote JayZ, " They've seen Hoop Dreams deflate, like a true fiends weight".
With the help of their good friend Reddit, they read visit the Sh!ttyKickstarters subreddit and learn about some products that should've have remained bad dreams, or things that only sound good when you're high.
So, keep your money in your pocket, sigh at those that couldn't resist the gamble, and wonder if this is any worse than crypto.
