Right outside my office window is direct view to my backyard.
Over the last several months I've watched this beautiful grey kitten grow up and pretty much own the space.
I could, and have, sit here forever and watch her prowl and play, nap in the sun and hide from the rain. I'm obsessed with her and she has no idea. No idea how beautiful she is and no idea that I watch and enjoy her presence.
As I'm watching her, God showed me that this is how He sees us.
He loves to watch us grow. Watching us learn new skills, play and enjoy life, and feel sad when we struggle.
We will never be able to see us as He does. We don't see our beauty, our strengths, the way He does.
Sometimes it feels as if He is miles away and we may even forget that He's there. We go on living our lives not knowing that He is OBSESSED with us, loves us, so much more than we could ever comprehend.
If I were to open the door to my backyard that poor kitten would run away scared because she doesn't know how much I care about her. God can be the same way.
If you're wondering where He is, He's right inside, watching you, waiting for you to approach first so as to not scare you off.
Putting this all into words isn't easy and is almost frustrating because it doesn't feel like the right words exist for what I'm trying to say.
But someone needs to hear (read?) that He hasn't abandoned you, He's not mad at you. If you walked away, all you have to do is turn around and He'll be waiting in open arms.
God loves you, is watching you and has a smile on His face watching you learn this thing called life.
I imagine, sometimes, that He's on His thrown looking down on me and elbows an angel to get their attention. He points and says "ahh look! It's so amazing when she does this! She's so cute" in the same way I do when I show Axel this adorable cat.
So from a crazy Jesus-loving cat lady, God wants you to know that He is OBSESSED with and loves you more than you'll ever know🐈💙🐈⬛
