"How does God change the world?" That's the questions at the heart of this study. Our answers tend to be political, social, moral, cultural, etc.
But David Fitch wants to suggest an answer that is at once much simpler, and yet much more deeply challenging -
"By knowing God's presence in Christ [in our midst], we are then able to recognize his presence in the world. We participate in his work in the world, and his presence becomes visible. The world sees God's presence among us and through us and joins in with God. And the world is changed."
This, Fitch contends, is "faithful presence".
