“I was still very self-conscious about it and was very hyper aware all the time of what people were thinking of me. I felt like I was just not comfortable in it. And then came the showtime. And that first night when I was on stage in front of the audience, I felt this feeling of being exactly where I was meant to be. That was the moment where everything shifted. And so I owe everything to that single moment of that teacher convincing me to be the lead role in the school musical. I all of a sudden had people cheering for me. I had parents asking me for my autograph as a kid. And that attention and being valued and being seen as being good at something and seeing that as an asset was the start of me rebuilding my self confidence that I'd lost. And it's just been a journey of progressing that and building ever since.”
