"I was nervous, but I wasn't afraid of getting beat because I'd done everything I could starting with watching those two games to prepare for it. I stood there and went, 'Wow! I cannot believe I am standing next to arguably the greatest player ever to play the game'. And I grew up in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne... It's quite, when you look at it like that, it's like, wow... Do you know what I mean?"
Episode #39 of The Hope Initiative with Paul Wade
Paul Wade is a decorated Australian Footballer (soccer player) with over 100 appearances for the Socceroos between 1986-1996, scoring 10 goals from Midfield. He was the first Socceroo captain to ever be dropped, and in this conversation we chat about how he bounced back despite the adversity he faced. In his own words, he wasn't much of a footballer, but through hard work and resilience, he will forever be remembered in Australian football history.
Thanks to Wadey for his willingness to share and enthusiasm for life. I hope you get as much out of this as I certainly did!
Much love,
Rien
