After too long of a hiatus *but necessary for professional and personal reasons* I am back! In today's episode I am joined by one of my former professors and current mentors, Dr. Shabab Wahid. Dr. Wahid is a mental health specialist and is currently an assistant professor in the School of Health at Georgetown University. His areas of focus are: "(1) the connection between climate change and mental health; (2) the influence of culture on the lived experience of mental illness; and (3) development, cultural adaptation, and evaluation of community-based interventions targeting mental illness and reducing mental health stigma and discrimination." It is safe to say Dr. Wahid is more than qualified to be discussing mental health at the global level. With features in The Lancet Planetary Health, Times Magazine, and BBC World Service Radio, Dr. Wahid's research and discoveries have great impact on the prioritization of mental health in not just the healthcare space, but nearly every facet of life. I highly encourage you to read his published work which can be found below. https://gufaculty360.georgetown.edu/s/contact/0031Q00002SEFlWQAX/shabab-wahid

Thank you Dr. Wahid for joining me in today's discussion!
