As the people of God once again got back to work on rebuilding the temple, a critical error had crept in unnoticed: the people slowly began to feel that because they were working on something holy, it made them holy. So for a third time God sends His prophet Haggai to correct their misguided belief and remind them of where God's righteousness truly comes from. We saw how a works based mindset, defiles the true gospel and the grace and salvation only found through the sinless life, brutal death, and miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ.
