Many aspirants on the Path SEEK to achieve what they believe to be the end of their journey. Awakening in the Astral Plane is one example of a commonly misunderstood milestone. A commonly used expression in New Age circles is "5D Ascension." That phrase is problematic on a number of levels, and is a symptom of the erroneous beliefs which can arise when an aspirant reaches a milestone in their development. Once someone uncovers and applies various techniques for astral projection (lucid dreaming), for instance, they often believe themselves to be awake. They think because they can travel in the fifth dimension that they have secured their place in the supernal worlds. While awakening in the Astral Plane is an important milestone on the Path, it is by no means the end of the journey. In many ways, it merely marks a new beginning: a whole new leg of the journey of actual awakening--in the CAUSAL Plane--and Self-Realization.
