I met Lesley in Jordan when she led a company debrief after a long, tragic kidnap case in Iraq. As the guy on the ground, it was my duty to attend and report what had happened over the months. The Iraqi and American staff were devastated. As a former Royal Marine Commando, such emotions were unknown to me. Lesley held the floor and helped their minds to accept their loss, fear and confusion. By witnessing her at work, I changed how I see the world. I found compassion, and it helped me to confront my own demons from 5 years in Iraq. I am now a coach, mentor and author, helping to change lives.
