Paul now turns from the matter of character to the matter of behavior.
Is the man in question a man of self-control? Is his life controlled by his will in response to the Word over the objection of his emotions and desires? This is a mark of the man of God.
What are the hindrances to self-control and how can we make our lives a picture of self under control?
Men of self-control – that is what the church is looking for, because that is what God is looking for.
