Frederick Bailey Deeming used as many as 14 aliases throughout his life. He was known in the press as "Mad Fred" and "The Demon". There is evidence that links him to be Jack The Ripper, the Whitechapel Murderer, in September 1888 and being the culprit of the 5000 sovereigns stolen from the 'Iberia' in Williamstown Victoria in May 1889.
